EASTER AS AN OCCASION FOR HOPE!
Dear friends and supporters of the Kongo Social-Care e. V. association,
Christ has risen from the dead. He lives! As Christians we are part of his death and resurrection.
Today I have to tell you the sad news that our honorary member, Herbert Brauhardt, died at the age of 91 in Kevelaer on March 29, 2019. The funeral took place on April 3, 2019 at the Kevelaer cemetery.

I met the honorary member Herbert Brauhardt in 2002 in Lourdes (France). He was a great admirer of our Mother of God.
At this point I would like to especially remind you of a very generous donation from Mr. Herbert Brauhardt. As a sign of our gratitude, the clinic, which we were able to build with the money and opened on May 5, 2014, received his name. Since then, the clinic in Durba has been called the Herbert-Brauhardt Clinic.
From the foundation until 31.12.2016 Mr. Brauhardt was treasurer of our association. On Christmas Day 2016 I was allowed to hand over the certificate of honor in the Marienstift in Kevelaer. It was a nice surprise for him and he was very happy about it.

On 17 February 2019 I visited him in Kevelaer and gave him communion to the sick. On his desk there was a calendar with the following text: "Even the worst stroke of fate should not bring you to your knees, and FAITH and CONFIDENCE may then give you the strength to go on and not give up. This is a message of hope! A message that can be a guide for all of us on our journey through life.
I will never forget his last glance and his face full of joy when I said to him: "I will come back to visit you". This is also a message of hope! Pope Francis sent a message of hope to us Christians on Easter Vigil 2019. He encouraged us not to lose ourselves in dissatisfaction and hopelessness. Easter is a reason for hope!
