Congo: A country, a world where many people daily struggle for their survival; especially Children, Mothers and Patients need our help!

The most important concern of the Association Kongo Social-Care, e. V. is the health care of the people, especially the needy people living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The health system there is in a very catastrophic state. The public and private hospitals lack of important medical devices, spare parts and medicines. Existing devices are often defective or no longer meet the current standards. A Congolese doctor stated: "You decide to save a life but there is no technical support, it's like a blind flight!" In the hospitals, patients are treated according to the motto "pay first, and then treat". This is the situation although in the rural regions some patients have to travel for a day to reach a hospital.

Ultrasound Scanner for the Maternity Ward Brauhardt

After my exciting trip to the Congo in March 2016, I called for a donation for the purchase of an ultrasound scanner for our transition clinic Brauhardt in Durba. The request was extremely welcomed. In a very short time, we were able to transport via Uganda to the Congo an ultrasound scanner Mindray DP-30, including 2 tubes and printers. Our doctor, Dr. Bienvenu Sukuma, told me on the phone: "The ultrasound equipment we received from Germany is a great help for me and my patients. We are filled with deep gratitude by every operation". This miracle has only been possible thanks to your generous donations.

Opening of the Maternity Ward Ingo Dammer

On July 9th, 2016, we opened in the Congo the new maternity ward Ingo Dammer. We built a small house made of clay and roof plates. With your financial help, we were able to provide to Ariwara, the Congo or in Kampala in Uganda, necessary medication, a stethoscope, a scale, small medical equipment, beds for patients, mattresses, chairs, a small solar system (made in Germany) with battery storage and other useful things. Please keep in mind that Ariwara is about 200 km away from the maternity ward Ingo Dammer and the prevailing road conditions make every transport a huge adventure.

A new Motorbike

In the Congolese rural regions, patients in medical emergencies are currently brought to the hospital on foot on a stretcher or by bicycle. Often medical help comes too late. This is the real world I personally experienced in the Congo. Thanks to your donation, we were able to purchase a motorbike and a helmet in Ariwara on October 09, 2016. We are now transporting our emergency patients to the hospital on this motorbike. You can imagine how stressful this can be for patients who are suffering. In order to improve our assistance, we are looking forward to the transport of children and pregnant women.

Today I turn to you, my friends and supporters, to ask for a goal-oriented donation which is for the purchase of an ambulance. We are grateful for any help.

Review

Since 2004, we have opened five health care centers: Djabir Health Center (2004), Lenvo Health Center (2008), Ingo Dammer Health Center (2011), Herbert Brauhardt Clinic in Durba (2015) and in this year (2016) the maternity ward Ingo Dammer.

We support people in need in the respective region and are thus as close as possible to the people who need help.

Outlook

Please help to continue our Congo project. Please give the Congolese patients a chance to live a healthy life, especially if they cannot afford the basic medical care themselves. Only a healthy population can develop.
